(FYI.you can bring in one unopened bottle of water with you.) Afterwards we shopped at the official Tigers shop in the ballpark then walked the circuit around the ballpark, enjoying the Ty Cobb historic marker, the Tigers bronze door, the baseball ferris wheel, the beautiful tilework by the legacy Pewabic Pottery, the Detroit Tigers sculptures at the north entrance gate (the number of photos taken here must number in the millions!), and the brick pavers, some of which honor Detroit Tigers players. Made one food run for a traditional ballpark hotdog. JV gave up a couple home runs, and the Tigers won, 2-0. Before we found our seats, we did a bit of exploring.checked out the Ernie Harwell statue got our photos taken with Paws, the Tigers mascot (free and taken by a Tigers staffer) took my bro's photo with the Miggy Cabrera bobblehead statue checked out some of the "by decade" historical displays along the central arcade. To keep costs down, we opted for some upper deck seats on the first base side. And a chance to see Cabrera in his last season. Justin Verlander on the mound for the Mets. So we ended up at Thursday afternoon game on a beautiful sunny day in the D! Tigers vs Mets. Ever the Detroit Tigers fan, he wanted to attend a game while he was in town. My brother and sister-in-law were visiting from out West.
